Machines help people to make their life easier. There are simple machines, ideal machines, and compound machines. Simple machines are a basic machine that only uses one device to pull a force. Ideal machines are machines where the work input is the same as work output. There is also the compound machine which is a combination of 2 or more simple machines. Machines can make work easier. You see a machine almost everyday in your life. Rube Goldberg machines are inventions or apparatuses that are used to complete a simple task in a complicated way. The Rube Goldberg machine we made in class was a success. The class would add on going from the end to the beginning. It was easier to go from the end because of how easy it was to just add on to make the simple machine go. My part was quite easy thanks to the group that went in front of us. We had to find a way to push the button that would release the car to hit the block that would release the string attached to the weight that would fall down and hit the “That Was Easy” button. We found a way that was going to be easy for the next group, so they were able to finish the machine. My thoughts about the machine was that it was super fun and complicated. I would totally do it again! Some examples of simple machines are pulleys, wedges, screws, levers, etc. Each of these machines do something different. Simple machines can make life easier by just doing one simple task. Pulleys are wheels with a line that is used to pull heavy weights. All of these machines do a simple task like this. That’s it for machines.
